First thing's first... a bit of chatground

Originating from the time of Genghis, the Mongol Rally has evolved from racing only the leanest and meanest yaks across the colossal Mongolian Empire, to becoming "the greatest motoring adventure on the planet", raising a whopping £5.5 million for various worthwhile charities along the way.

With 10,000 miles, 5 mountain ranges and 3 deserts standing between our starting point at Goodwood Racetrack and the finish line at Ulaan Ude, it would appear a challenge fit for only the most fearless and capable explorers. That, we are most certainly not.

Despite our good looks, boyish charm and scintilating chat; a pretty severe lack of practical skills and a vehicle more accustomed to transporting desserts rather than the Gobi Desert leaves us well and truly at the mercy of the cruel Rally mistress. It promises to be an entertaining and unforgettable trip.

We are not however tackling this seemingly impossible challenge, completely unprepared, purely for your own amusement (via our blog), but also to raise money for two fantastic charities- Cool Earth and Winter Comfort. Any support you could offer us in terms of backing these fantastic causes or helping us to reach our destination would therefore be massively appreciated.
